ADTA Profile

The ADTA is the industry body representing professional driving instructors. Members are qualified driving instructors who provide training for all classes of driver's licences - from car to heavy trucks and buses.

The Association serves its membership by providing a range of services and benefits and also acting as a representative and negotiating body. It serves the community in offering professional driving instructors able to provide quality tuition.

The Association is endeavouring to improve road safety by committing itself to the full introduction of logbook in all states, competency based training and assessment, which allows novice drivers to be trained and educated to a higher standard.

Our Mission

To promote and encourage "Safe Driving - For Life" throughout the community by improving the competency and professionalism of all Driving Instructors, while protecting their interests and representing them with an influential voice.

To improve the standard and competency of drivers with measures designed to ensure full and thorough training is provided to all new and existing drivers by;
- Developing proposals to improve the level of driving instruction and education;
- Ensuring that an optimum climate is created for favorable attitudes towards the driver training industry by the public, government, key decision makers and others;
- Adopting a lead role in the public debate on issues affecting the industry;
- Providing a range of services to assist members in sustaining their operations.

Professional driver trainers are able to draw upon a wealth of training and experience and pass it on in the way of quality instruction to the novice driver.
They are able to ensure that you don't pick up bad habits and that you feel confident in every manoeuvre you make.

Professional driving tuition is an investment for a lifetime of safe motoring, equipping novice drivers with skills and awareness training enabling them to be better-prepared, competent, safe new drivers.

More About Us

ADTA driver trainers are government licensed and are also required to have public liability and professional indemnity insurance cover just like any professional service provider. Many are also preparing themselves for quality audits. Something which ADTA has initiated, and which will provide the novice driver with the satisfaction of knowing that their instructor is required to comply with a series of 'checks and balances' proving they are providing a service in accordance with international quality standards.

Understanding the Road Rules.
Visual SearchTechniques, including the 'safety cushion' and safe following distance in traffic which is critical in preventing the most common crashes.
Speed control and correct vehicle manoeuvring techniques.
